Strawberry Blossoms

I can just taste the sweet, juicy strawberries now. The bees are enjoying the blossoms as much as I will enjoy the berries.

Tulips in DC

Check out this beautiful swath of tulips on the steps of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

Pulmonaria

I bought this lungwort in a tiny pint-sized clump last spring. Look at the size of it now! I love the early spring color and will enjoy the foliage all summer long. Lungwort is also sometime called Soldiers and Sailors, Spotted dog, Joseph and Mary, Jerusalem Cowslip, and Bethlehem Sage.

Amaryllis Finally!

Well, my crocuses bloomed yesterday, and so did my amaryllis. In our defense, we saved the bulb from last year, over-summered it, and replanted it for another bloom. I guess without the help of high-tech greenhouse forcing, blooming takes a little longer. The really weird thing is the bloom has no leaves. That does not bode well for next year.
