Baboon Bottom

These pictures are included for MeganPhlox. As she points out, the Baboon Bottom Iris looks nothing like its namesake; she thinks it really deserves a prettier name. I personally think such a naughty name as Baboon Bottom is delightful, and love the expressions exhibited upon hearing it for the first time.

Breakers Iris

Breakers is a Tall Bearded-type iris (my favorite type, btw).

Alliums

I love my alliums. Related to onions, they flower in many colors, including purples, pinks, blues, whites, and greens.

Chives in the Herb Garden

Chives in the herb and strawberries garden. From this point forward, they will make me think of breakfast at Lynda's...The Inn at Sweet Water Farm.

Batik Iris

This is the iris that made me fall in love with irises, the Batik Iris. True to form, it took a full season after being moved from my old home to bloom, but here is, the first blooming of the Batik Iris, or any that I moved, at my new home and garden. If you love Batik, check out Baboon Bottom, same kind of pattern, called zebra, but pink instead of the bluish-purple.

First Bloom: Claire de Lune

The first bloom of my new Claire de Lune Clematis. I bought this about a month ago at Northeast Nurseries and it is already in bloom!

Purple Corner

Wild Phlox, alliums, and irises at the corner of the house.
